CTMS Drama Club

Mary Poppins Performances are March 7, 8, and 9, 2019 February Cast and Crew Schedule January Rehearsal Schedule January Stage Crew Schedule

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to take the chance to reintroduce myself before the holiday break starts. My name is Caitlin O’Connor and I am the director of this year’s Drama Club production of Mary Poppins, Junior. Just to give you a little more background about myself, I am a sixth grade social studies and science teacher here at CTMS. I have worked behind the scenes in many school productions such as The King and I, Beauty and the Beast, and The Music Man. I am enjoying the opportunity immensely to work with the students of CTMS. After the holiday break, rehearsals will be even more exciting as a vocal coach and two choreographers have been added to our team, and set design is moving along. There are a few items that I would like to address going forward.

  • Remind- Remind is an app that you can download on any smartphone. I send out notifications about rehearsals being extended or cancelled as well as meetings dates through the app. If you have not already joined the Remind App, please do so. You can click on the following link to join my class: Drama Club 2018

  • Google Classroom- Google Classroom is an App that can be looked at both on smartphones as well as any computer. Google Classroom has the schedule of rehearsals as well as a variety of other materials to help students rehearse at home. To access at home, you will need your child to login with their school account.

  • Email- I can also be reached anytime by email at dramaclub@ctsdnj.org

A supercalifragilisticexpialidocious school production doesn't happen on its own, it's often thanks to parent volunteers like you! There are many ways to help out our production whether you are donating time, props, or your talents. We are asking for parent volunteers to help with:

  • Ticket sales on the days of the performance

  • Program Duplication

  • Parent Chaperones for Dress Rehearsal and/or Performances

  • Selling concessions on the days of the performance

  • Providing dinner during Tech. Week

  • Creating the sets

  • Finding/donating props such as old briefcases or carpetbags

If you are interested in Set Construction, please email me at your earliest convenience. Any and all help is always greatly appreciated!

    • Every student in cast and crew will receive a t-shirt. The Mary Poppins logo will be featured on the front and a list of the cast and crew will be on the back.

    • In order to have your child’s name included on the shirts, your permission is needed. Please return this paper signed with your permission and child’s shirt size.

This form needs to be submitted by: January 18, 2019 T-Shirt Questionnaire Form

  • Every year for the production a playbill is made that features advertisements and boosters. Every student is asked to sell $50 worth of ads. The ads will help cover the cost of t-shirts for the cast and stage crew, food for tech week, and food and decor for the cast and crew party following the last show on March 9.

  • Ads can be from community businesses, big chain retailers, or family members. The order forms are included below and are due back by February 8, 2019

  • Every year students also have headshots taken to put in the program and hang in the cafeteria. Please sign a release allowing your child’s photograph to be taken and placed in our program and school.
